A man has been shot death by a soldier in Oromi, Ethiopia because his phone rang during a public meeting.
According to Amnesty international, the 32 years Ariti Shununde was killed during operations to suppress an armed group, the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA).
An eye witness report says that the soldiers had organised a meeting in Oromia and collected all the phones of those who had turned up. In the course of the meeting, one of the phones rang and when the soldiers asked for the owner, Ariti stepped forward and was shot twice on his back.
