A police inspector popularly known as Petit Bikolo has died after being gunned at by unidentified armed men.

The incident which took place in Bamenda, North West region of Cameroon later sparked tension in the town resulting to the exchange of gunshots between uniform officers and persons suspected to be separatist fighters. This resulted to part of the town completely shutting down leaving hundreds of people stranded. Some of whom were stuck in the Bamenda main market.

This is not the first time a uniform officer is killed by people refered to as separatist fighters resulting to tension in the town. Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon is one of those towns that has been severely hit by the anglophone crisis since 2016.
