The chairman of the Social Democratic Front party (SDF), Ni John Fru Ndi has said the only way to witness the wave of change in Cameroon is for citizens to tell the truth. He was speaking during an ecumenical service that held at his Soa residence in Yaounde on November 1, 2020.
Chairman, SDF Party
The ceremony was organised by militants of the SDF party, in a bid to pay homage to some party members who died in the course of the year; Hon. Mbah Ndam, Barrister Sama Francis and Mayor Balick Awa Fidelis among others.
The service was equally held to mourn the victims of the Anglophone crisis, with the most recent case, that of the school children who were killed on October 24 in Kumba.During the service, the preceding pastors and imams called on God to me merciful on Cameroonians and for peace to return to the country.
Ni John Fru Ndi while speaking to the press, emphasized on the need for Cameroonians to start telling the truth. According to him, people should start taking responsibilities for their actions and telling the story as it is without twisting it. He further regretted on the path the self styled Ambazonians have taken. “We cannot change this country until we build on truth, if there is a truth, say it. We only live once. I’ve been to the Amba camps several times. They dragged me, they humiliated me.” He lamented.
“No matter how much I get angry with the fon of Mankon, Bafut, or Bali, I cannot go to sit on their thrones but today we find children who have no regards for anything towards their fathers. We have to build Cameroon on the truth and love. We came here today to express that love.” He added firmly.
SDF Chairman addressing guests at the event
There was an overflow of joy in the hearts of the party militants to have the SDF chairman back in the country “we are grateful to have him here with us.” The party’s vice president Joshua Osih said in a statement to the press.
The Chairman for the SDF has been out of the country for several months and it was rumoured that the party was not functioning as it should.
Joshua Osih, the party’s 1st Vice President, however cleared the dust on this rumor. “2020 has been a very complicated year. It has been even more complicated for us the SDF. We’ve lost so many high level cadres of the party that’s why we thought that we cannot relaunch our activities without first of all commemorating their passing away…The party was functioning all ok. Maybe it wasn’t functioning as some people would want it to function. But I think there is nothing you can say that the party was supposed to do that they didn’t doThe party intends to relaunch its activities in the days ahead. The national chairman is back meaning in the coming weeks we will be sitting together to work on our activities for 2021.” He ended.
