Palace razed, chief killed in Buea

The traditional ruler of Liwu la-Malele village in Buea Subdivision, has been killed and his palace set ablaze. Armed men, suspected by the villagers to be separatist fighters stormed the palace at about 7:30pm on November 6th and carried out this act.

After observing the corpse of the late chief Molinga Francis Nangoh, at the Buea Regional Hospital Mortuary, it was revealed that he had been either axed or macheted by his attackers. The chief is said to have just finished a crisis meeting with some members of his community less than an hour before he was killed.

Liwu la-Malele village is situated in Muea court area, Buea, South west region of the republic of Cameroon. Molinga Francis Nangoh was serving as a third class chief in the chiefdom before his demise. He is the second chief that has been killed in Fako since the start of the socio political unrest in the North West and South West Regions of the country.
