An overhead kick on 72 minutes by defender Salomon Banga Bindjeme gave Cameroon, who had missed lots of scoring opportunities, the winning margin in Group A on Saturday January 16 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde.

Their victory over the Warriors of Zimbabwe earned the Lions three points and places them at the top of Group A, followed by Mali with 3 points, Bukina Faso (0 points) and Zimbabwe (0 point).

Prior to the football encounter, the Warriors’ coach Zdravko Logarusic accused Cameroon of practising witchcraft after finding a dead bat in the field minutes to the game.
