The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have bowed out of the ongoing African Nations Championship, CHAN after experiencing a defeat from the Atlas Lions of Morocco.

This was during a semi final encounter that held in Limbe, South West Region, Cameroon.

The Atlas Lions during the first half scored two goals against Cameroon with Soufaine Bouftini coming at the 28 minute and Soufian Rahimi coming at the 40 minute. They seem to have returned during the second half with more agility as Soufian Rahimi scored another goal at the 73 minute while Mohammed Ali Bemammer added a fourth at the 82 minute taking the score to 4-0.

The lions defeat has disqualified them from the finals of the ongoing football tournament.

Some Cameroonians have described the defeat as “shameful”.

Prior to the encounter, some Fako chiefs had stated that the gods were with the lions and victory was assured.

It can however be recalled that the lions making it to the semifinals is historical.

The Atlas Lions of Morocco will knock horns with the Eagles of Mali in the final match.
