Cameroon’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Fotso has cancelled march past activities to commemorate this year’s youth day celebration.

This was made known in a release he signed today February 5.

According to the release, the prevalence of the corona virus is responsible for this decision. “…we are avoiding further spread of the coronavirus in order to preserve the health of the population, especially youths”. Part of the communique reads

The theme for this years youth day celebration in Cameroon is “Youth, Resilience, Challenges and Opportunities In Times Of Covid-19”.

Youth day is usually celebrated in Cameroon yearly on February 11.
