Mozambique’s National Meteorological Institute (Inam) has predicted that a cyclone will land on February 13.
Inam furthered that the situation results from a low pressure system that was formed in the Mozambique Channel on Sunday.
The country’s authorities have warned that the cyclone will affect the central provinces of Zambézia and Sofala and the Southern province of Inhambane.
In another statement by Inam, the meteorological system has a strong chance of reaching the stage of tropical depression on Thursday.
Should the cyclone occur, it will be the third in the current rainy season after the Chalane and Eloise cyclones.
