Following the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in Secondary schools, Cameroon’s Minister of Secondary Education, Nalova Lyonga has signed a communique instructing that all students and staff be screened of COVID-19.
Part of the communique reads “…the Ministry of Secondary Education intends without further delay to systematically administer COVID-19 screening tests to all students as well as administrative and teaching staff of secondary schools and teacher training colleges nation wide”.
According to Minister Nalova, the screening campaign aims at reducing the cases of infection and to allow for the serene continuation of the 2020/2021 school year.
“Access to school campuses shall be conditioned on the presentation of recent covid 19 test with a negative result”. The communique states.
