Release by CJTU
The Cameroon Journalists Trade Union, CJTU condemned the act, while calling for her immediate release.
“Journalists are watchdogs of society and their activities are meant to build a safe and accountable community for all. Any harm meant against any journalist should be condemned in the strongest term”. Part of CJTU release reads.

Tweet extracted from CAMASEJ National
“…this is a blatant and unpardonable attack on journalists who should in no way be a target for any party in the ongoing unrest”. CAMASEJ National tweeted.
Since the start of unrest in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon in 2016, several kidnaps have been recorded and journalists have been victims in some cases.
It is hoped that journalists will stop being targeted as they go about their service to the society.
