One of the main contenders in Congo-Brazzaville’s presidential election, Guy Brice Parfait Kolelas has died shortly after testing positive of Covid-19.
Parfait Kolelas is said to have died in a medical aircraft which had to transport him from Brazzaville on Sunday afternoon.
Presidential Elections held in Congo-Brazzaville on Sunday March 21.
Kolelas had been tested positive of Covid-19 on Friday March 19, the last day of election campaigns.
The 61 year old was diabetic and was among six candidates running against president Sassou Nguesso.
He was the son of a former prime minister and had served as Minister of fishing and civil servants.
