Over one thousand Cameroonian women have converged for a conference geared towards the restoration of peace in the country.

The Convention dubbed National Women’s Convention for Peace is the first of it’s kind holding in the country. It is holding at the Yaounde Conference Centre and will run for three days.

The conference brings together women from all the ten regions of the country and from all walks of life selected from 38 different women-led organisations.

“We are today because we believe our united voices can change the narrative of peace and security”. Yvonne Muma of the Community Women Peace Mediators, CAWOPEM, said during her welcome speech to the women.
