There has been a reported coup in Sudan early this morning with the military arresting civilian Prime Minister, Abdullah Hamdock and other political leaders.

Protesters have taken to the streets of the capital, Khartoum despite reported shootings.
The coup has been blamed on blamed on political infighting and the fact that the military and civilian leaders have been at loggerheads since a transitional government was set up after president Omar al-Bashir was overthrown two years ago.
Sudan’s information ministry says the military stormed the headquarter of the state broadcaster in Omdurman and detained the staff.
