Cameroon: Fako SDO Bans Knockouts, Fireworks, Toy Guns And Night Ceremonies

The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO for Fako Division, Engamba Emmanuel Lodoux has prohibited the sales and use of Knockouts, fireworks and toy guns. He also prohibited nocturnal ceremonies all over the Division.

His order was made known in two separate decisions signed on December 14 and 15 respectively.

“…all nocturnal ceremonies are PROHIBITED within the entire Fako Division during the period from the 15th of December 2021 to the 15th of February 2022”. Part of the second release reads.

The SDO however stated that events like marriages and crusades can be held though after having an authorisation.

“It is equally important to note that for particular events such as marriages, crusades, etc, the organizers are called upon to obtain a special authorization from the sub Divisional Officers with appropriate security measures to cover the ceremony.”

According to the public administrator, these measures are aimed at guaranteeing the security of the population within this delicate period.
