North West: VictoryMarshal Ayafor Foundation’s Head Fetes Birthday with DDR Inmates

The founder and leader of Victory Marshal Ayafor (VIMA) Foundation, Bassang Victory popularly known as The States Lady has celebrated her birthday with inmates at the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintergration Centre in Bamenda, North West Region.

During the ceremony that took place this February 15, the celebrant used the opportunity to instill hope in the lives of those living in the centre. According to her, they have potentials which they should never minimise.

“You are golden pillars”. She told the inmates insisting that they should refere to themselves as such and not as ex fighters.

She equally said that the inmates should not see their current status as the end for them but rather the start of their lives insisting that they should have big dreams and work towards achieving it. “Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams. You can make it”. She encouraged the inmates.

Bassang Victory went further to urge the inmates to continously collaborate, love and support each other, as well as their Coordinator.

Representing the inmates, the Senior Presfect thanked Victory Marshial for the gesture while saying that it will serve as a springboard for other fighters in the bush to drop their arms and join the Centre so as to partake in subsequent celebrations. He equally used the opportunity to encourage other fighters to drop their arms and turn a new live.

The Coordinator of the Centre, Kum Henry expressed his satisfaction to the donor.

“Your gesture here today…is more than all the beer or food. What you do reflects what heaven thinks of you.” He told Bassang Victory.

Kum Henry used the opportunity to appreciate the Journalists for their support to those in the centre while urging them to continue in the same line.

“You have a very heavy role to play to change the lives of those in the Centre…We should not hang on one or two mistakes they make. They deserve our love”. Henry urged the journalists.

Bassang Victory presented gifts including sanitary napkins, rice, sachet tomatoes, salt, omo, toothbrush, toothpaste and soap to the inmates.

VictoryMarshal Ayafor (VIMA) foundation is the Charity arm of Serena Empire. The foundation has as mission and objective, to give lives relevance; to make the world a much more better place for all.

They are also committed in protecting the rights and well-being of less Privileged people in communities.
