The 8th session of the North West Regional Assembly has opened in Bamenda today September 12, 2022.

This sitting is held under the banner “Evaluation of Peace Building and Back to School”.

In an opening address, the president of the Regional Assembly, Fru Angwafor said there can be no development without youth engagement and education.

He remarked that, to encourage education in the region, the assembly has subsidized inclusive education and given scholarships to a hundred of needy students. He furthered that prizes have been awarded to best performing students, school books and bags given to 2000 internally displaced students in the region.

Other peace and development initiatives are expected to be discussed in the session.

The session which started today, is expected to run till September 14, 2022.
