Cameroon: Public Health Minister Warns Against Contaminated Methotrextm 50mg

The Minister of Public Health, Dr Manaouda Malachie has urged the general public to be vigilant against the use of substandard (contaminated) methotrextm (methotrexate) 50mg. This information is contained in a release signed by the Minister this January 16, 2023.

Dr Manaouda Malachie stated that according to the Medical product alert No 8/2022 of the World Health Organization (WHO), ONE BATCH of substandard Methotrextm 50mg was identified in Yemen and Lebanon.

This medication is on the WHO model list of essential drugs and is indicated for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases.

Minister Manaouda Malachie has therefore urged everyone to stop using substandard products and to report to the inspectorate of pharmaceutical services and laboratories through igpharcie@yahoo.com.
