MINAT Boss Warns Against Fake Pilgrim Guides

The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji has urged Muslim faithful to watch out for fake pilgrim guides. This is contained in a release signed this February 27, 2023 in Yaounde.

According to the Minister who doubles as the Chairman of the Hajj Commission, some individuals are roaming different towns under the guise of pilgrim guides, extorting money from Muslim faithful, while promising to organise their pilgrimage to Mecca.

The Minister through the release reminded the public that “in accordance with the regulations in force, only travel agencies duly approved by the National Hajj Commission are authorised to organise the minor pilgrimage (Umrah)”.

To this effect, Minister Atanga Nji called on Muslim faithful to use only guides authorised by the Hajj Commission and report unauthorised or unqualified persons to competent authorities.
