Councillors in Mezam, North West Region of Cameroon have fulfilled their civic responsibility by voting during this March 12 senatorial elections. The Councillors turned out in their numbers at the polling Centre at the Regional Delegation of Mines and Energy in Bamenda I.

The SDF Senatorial Candidate for Mezam, Vanigansen MoChiggle appreciated the entire organisation of the elections, referring to it as fair and transparent. “…the stakeholders were all involved in the process and that is why I say it is transparent”.
Present to cast his vote was the Fon of Nkwen who doubles as a member of the house of Chiefs at the North West Regional Assembly. He explained his satisfaction after exercising his civic responsibility. “I think it is my civic duty and responsibility to cast my vote and decide on those to represent our region in the senate.”

The two senate aspirants for Mezam are Vanigansen MoChiggle of the SDF and Prof. Neba Ndosiri Bridget of the CPDM.

The Governor of the North West Region, Adolph Lele Lafrique had earlier visited the polling station to supervise how the elections were unfolding. He extended words of encouragements to the voters and ELECAM officials who had been commissioned to man the affairs at the polling center.
At about 7pm this Sunday March 12 while voters left the polling Centre after counting votes, no incident had been reported around the centre. Sunday in the town was characterised by timid movements of people. Most businesses were closed on this day.
