At 27th AGM, Nkumu Fed Fed Recounts Achievements, Challenges

Women of Nkumu Fed Fed, a Non Governmental Organisation, (NGO) have recounted some of their achievements as well as challenges faced in over twenty five years of existence. This was done in Djeuga Palace in Yaounde as they began their Annual General Meeting, (AGM).

In a presentation by the President General, Eunice Tita, it was revealed that the NGO has been effectively active in the areas of Education, Health, Livelihood and Human Rights.

Eunice Tita stated that Nkumu Fed Fed within their years of existence has awarded scholarships to over 15,000 students in the North West Region. She added that the organisation has equally assisted thirteen colleges with over 1000 ICT and Lab materials.

The President furthered that over 3000 youths had benefited training from the organisation. She added that Nkumu Fed Fed had constructed and equipped three health units in the North West Region, amongst others.

As for the challenges faced by the organisation, the President General cited the crisis in the North West Region of the country as the major difficulty encountered by the organisation in running their activities. According to her, unrest in the region caused to organisation to move from bali to a second site in Bamenda. She also highlighted that difficulty in accessing some areas poses a challenge to the organisation in the course of their outreach programs.

The women led organisation received Senator Regina Mundi, the Director General of Customs, the representative of the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Justice in charge of penitentiary, during the first part of the meeting.

Nkumu Fed Fed was created in 1984 in Limbe and has thirteen branches in the world with six in Cameroon and seven in the diaspora. Funding this year’s AGM is Fed Fed Germany, led by Ashu-Egbe Emmerencia as President.

As they commemorate their 27th AGM, Nkumu Fed Fed looks forward to carving out guidelines that will take the organisation forward and realise more projects in their areas of specialty.
